Progressive $50K Grants for Commercial Vehicles

The Driving Small Business Forward Fund is awarding 20 small businesses with $50,000 each—plus access to a 12-week Boost Camp coaching program—to help entrepreneurs grow and get the commercial vehicle support they need; apply by June 20, 2025!

When to apply:

As soon as possible. Application is due June 20, 2025.

You should apply if you

Own a for-profit business based in one of the 50 U.S. states or D.C. (U.S. Territories excluded).

Have 10 or fewer employees and made less than $5M in gross revenue in 2024.

Need a qualifying commercial vehicle (excluding heavy trucks and off-road machinery) and have a clear plan for how it will help your business grow.

Do not primarily drive for rideshare or delivery apps like Uber, DoorDash, or Instacart.

Information you’ll need to provide

  • Basic contact info (name, phone number, email address, etc.).
  • Demographic information (gender, race, sexuality, disabilities, etc.).
  • Business details (name, website, social media, year founded, physical address, EIN, gross annual revenue, employee amount, etc.).
  • A few short answers about: your biggest obstacle as a business owner, why you became a business owner, how this grant will help you, how a commercial vehicle would affect your business, how it affects your community, and your biggest accomplishment.

Helpful tips

  • Heads up: This is a longer application, so give yourself plenty of time to put your best foot forward and finish strong!
  • The review period for this grant is June 23 - August 25. Winning announcements will be made by August 2025.
  • Heavy trucks with Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) over 26,000 lbs. and vehicles for use off public roads (e.g., bulldozers, farm machinery, forklifts, etc.) do not qualify as commercial vehicles. If you are an independent contractor for a rideshare service like Uber, Lyft or third-party food delivery such as Uber Eats, DoorDash, Postmates, Grubhub, Instacart, etc., you are not eligible for this program.
  • Below is the scoring rubric judges will use to grade your application.
    • Demonstrated need for funds to purchase a commercial vehicle (40%)
    • Clear plan for growth as a result of a vehicle purchase (40%)
    • Demonstrated commitment to customers and community (20%)
  • The 12-week virtual Boost Camp coaching program occurs in September.
  • Ensure your application is clear, complete, and submitted early to avoid delays and maximize your chances of selection.
