Short-Time Compensation Program for Employers

Apply on behalf of your employees that have had their hours reduced so they can receive reemployment benefits to cover lost income.

When to apply:

As soon as you’ve had to reduce hours for your employees.

You should apply if you

Are a business with full-time employees. 

At least 10% of your staff must work reduced hours due to lost revenue of the business.

Plan to reduce the employees normal number of weekly work hours by 10%, but no more than 40%.

How to get started

Login to CONNECT with your Employer account information.

Submit a Short-Time Compensation Plan.

Information you’ll need to provide

  • An active log-in and password to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity’s CONNECT portal. 
  • Valid Reemployment Assistance Employer Account number.
  • Valid Federal Employee Identification Number.
